-I had no idea what to expect before I arrived and tried to keep an open mind - after two months in Thailand I knew that standards of living varied greatly - but when I got there I found lovely accommodation, seconds from a beautiful beach and on the school campus; the school is basic but well equipped and the teachers and the staff were really welcoming. And then there's the island, it's beautiful, and there's plenty to see and do in your spare time or you can just chill on a beach with a book. I taught English for 3 hours each morning and then after an hours break for lunch spent a couple more in the classroom on weekdays and had weekends off. The teaching was challenging but there was always a teacher around to help translate and it was really rewarding to see how the children progressed. I only spent one month working at the school, but I wish I could have spent longer there, it was such a great experience.
